Validation tracker

Every heat value we publish is a computed design target, not a measured result. This page shows exactly where each cultivar stands on the path from computation to the greenhouse to a measured HPLC reading. Nothing here has been grown and measured yet β€” and we say so, in the open.

● Computed

Designed and modeled in silico. Where every cultivar is today.

β—‹ In greenhouse

Being grown for wet-lab validation. In progress.

β—‹ Measured

Capsaicinoid content confirmed by HPLC. None yet.

Across the full catalog of 1,000 cultivar designs, 990 sit within concentrations that have actually been measured in a real pepper (up to ~10.6% of dry weight). The rest are design targets beyond anything measured to date β€” physically possible, not yet demonstrated.

How a design earns β€œMeasured”: it is grown in our greenhouse, its capsaicinoid content is quantified by HPLC, and that reading replaces the computed target here. Read how we know what we know for the full methodology and its limits.
