The Paradox Gimlet
A Paradox cucumber delivers the cool vegetal flavor you expect from a cucumber gimlet and then, three seconds later, the heat. It's a clean contradiction in a glass.

- 2 oz London dry gin
- ¾ oz fresh lime juice
- ½ oz simple syrup
- Ice

- 4
Double-strain into a chilled coupe.

Tips
- Contradiction cucumber (50K SHU) for a hot gimlet.
- A pinch of salt amplifies both the cucumber and the capsaicin.
Science Note
Cucumbers contain cucurbitacin, a compound that is mildly bitter. In the Paradox cultivar, capsaicin's burn masks the bitterness while the cucumber's high water content cools the TRPV1 response — the name earns itself.
