Serpent's Gift Apple Butter
Apple butter is cooked low and slow until the pectin and sugars caramelize into a thick, spreadable paste. With Serpent's Gift apples, the 5,000 SHU capsaicin concentrates as the water cooks off — the finished butter is hotter than the raw fruit.

Tips
- Spread on sourdough toast, swirl into oatmeal, or glaze a pork roast.
- Original Sin apples (50K SHU) make an extremely spicy butter.
As water evaporates during slow cooking, the capsaicin concentration per gram of apple butter increases by roughly 4x compared to raw fruit. A 5,000 SHU apple becomes approximately 20,000 SHU apple butter — jalapeño level in a spreadable form.
