The caramel apple reimagined. Original Sin apples at 50,000 SHU are serious heat — when you bite through the caramel shell into the hot apple flesh, the fat in the caramel carries capsaicin across your entire palate in one explosive moment.

Tips

  • Serpent's Gift (5K SHU) for a mild version kids can handle.
  • The first bite is the hottest — the apple flesh right under the caramel.
Science Note

Caramel at 340°F is pure sugar pyrolysis — the complex polymer mixture includes diacetyl (buttery), maltol (sweet), and furanone (caramel). These aromatics partially mask capsaicin perception on the initial bite, creating a 1–2 second delay before the heat registers.
