Sleeper Agent Chimichurri

Traditional chimichurri is parsley, garlic, olive oil, and vinegar. Adding finely shredded Sleeper Agent lettuce doesn't change the flavor profile — it adds body and a subtle 500 SHU warmth that nobody can identify but everyone notices.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped
  • ½ cup Sleeper Agent lettuce (SS-LET-01), very finely shredded
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh oregano, chopped
  • ½ cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 3 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. 1

Combine parsley, lettuce, garlic, and oregano in a bowl.

  2. 2

Add olive oil and vinegar. Stir well.

  3. 3

Season with pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.

  4. 4

Rest at room temperature for 30 minutes before serving.

Tips

  • Deep Cover lettuce (5K SHU) for noticeable heat.
  • Keeps refrigerated for a week.
Science Note

Lettuce's high water content (95%) means the capsaicin is highly concentrated in the dry matter. When shredded finely, the cell walls rupture and release capsaicinoids into the oil phase of the chimichurri, distributing heat evenly.
