How It Works

The subscription starts at Tier 1 and progresses one tier per month. There is no skipping ahead. The progression is intentional: each tier builds on the experience of the last, letting your palate and your capsaicin tolerance develop naturally. You start with Verbal Warning’s fruity, approachable warmth. By month four, you cross the threshold into metallic heat and higher capsaicin fractions. By month seven, you’re in PPE territory. By month ten, you face D.N.R.—the end of the line.

What Each Delivery Includes

Every monthly shipment is more than just a specimen. Each delivery arrives in sealed, laboratory-grade packaging and includes:

• •Specimen sample—a measured portion of that month’s tier, sealed and labeled with its computed design-target SHU rating.
• •Tasting notes—flavor profile, recommended tasting method, and culinary pairing suggestions (for tiers where culinary use is still practical).
• •Safety instructions—handling guidance specific to the tier. Higher tiers include PPE recommendations and emergency protocols.
• •Capsaicinoid profile—a printed data card with the specimen’s full capsaicinoid breakdown: capsaicin fraction, dihydrocapsaicin levels, onset speed, and duration curve.

Flexibility Built In

The ladder is a progression, but it’s your progression. If you find a tier you love, you can stay there—repeat the same specimen for as many months as you like before moving on. If you need a break, pause your subscription with no penalty. If life gets busy, skip a month and pick up where you left off. The only rule is that you can’t skip ahead: each tier must be experienced before unlocking the next.

There is also no obligation to finish. Not everyone needs to face D.N.R. If Tier 6 is your ceiling, that’s a perfectly respectable ceiling. Cancel anytime.

Gift Subscriptions

Give the ladder to someone else. Gift subscriptions are available in 3-month, 6-month, and full 10-month configurations. The recipient starts at Tier 1 and progresses on the same monthly schedule.
