Sugar Burn Strawberry Shortcake
Strawberry shortcake is sugar, cream, butter, and berries. When the berries carry 5,000 SHU, the whipped cream's casein tempers the heat and the biscuit's butter fat carries the capsaicin smoothly across the palate. It's a dessert that warms you.

Tips
- Candied Fang strawberries (25K SHU) for a hot shortcake — pair with extra whipped cream.
- Maceration extracts capsaicin into the strawberry syrup.
Maceration ruptures strawberry cell walls through osmotic stress (sugar draws out water), releasing capsaicinoids into the syrup. The syrup has a more uniform capsaicin distribution than whole berries — every spoonful is evenly warm.
